This is a general notice to all members to inform and advise regarding pm invites.
We allow members to put a link to other sites they are involved with in a signature, so that when they post here, others can choose if they want to check them out of their own volition/choice and also so the link can be checked and passed as acceptable to our TOS rules by staff.
We do not promote commercial sites, though we do have a folder for such and we do allow some commercial aspects on a site, on an individual case by case basis.
HOWEVER: we do not allow spamming by pm from members who only signed up to attempt to poach members from here to their own sites, especially those who don't even bother to introduce themselves or make any contribution to this site, via posting here.
If you receive any such messages please inform me or another staff member as soon as you can.
This is an abuse of our pm system and we immediately and permanently ban those who engage in this behaviour.
Thanks.

Aww. [crazy]
Me neither, lol.
We don't mind cross pollination, generally speaking, but pm'ing unsolicited invites[especially, though not exclusively, by those who only signed up to do so and who have no intention of contributing here ] is a breach of our rules and we do not negotiate after the fact.Banhammer every time for the would be poachers. [eg]
Some folk may also sign up and post for a bit before soliciting and we will also ban those members, as unsolicited invites are regarded as spamming by us, even from established members.
This topic is both advisory and an announcement for clarity, so there is no wiggle room for claims of ignorance.
Spammers can cheerfully consider themselves politely warned.

Re: PM INVITES FOR OTHER SITES:NOTICE
Just to make sure that everyone fully understands this. The basic rule here is that we don't allow people to post links to commercial sites where the sole purpose of the site is to sell a product or a service, unless the post complies with the Forum Rules. Posting links to reference material, or sites that sell material which directly relates to the topic being discussed is acceptable in threads outside of The Bazaar. For example: if you're discussing Kaballah, a link to a site that sells books on Kaballah which may help the person asking questions to better understand the subject is okay (in moderation), but just posting a link to a bookshop is not. Make sure that if you do post a link that it goes to the page with the information on it, not to the home page.
