Thelema anybody?
Thelema, the OTO, A.'.A.'. and so on get the occasional mention around here, but having had a little search, haven't found any thread for the discussion of Thelema generally... So I've made one. Any thelemites around? Anyone who just fancies discussing Liber AL, the law and so on. I'd be very interested in any insight from members of the OTO of their experiences.

I feel like it died with crowley. In some way it was pretty much a person cult.

I remember looking into it a couple of years ago and it was absolutely nothing but infighting, drama and nonsense. It's not worth getting involved with those people.

I know quite a few Thelemites. They're a private kinda group as a general rule - at least with the ones that I know.

I don't think I've ever encountered an esoteric group that was anything but! It seems to be a universal law that any time three or more occultists get together with a common goal, a certain amount of infighting must follow. The Thelemites I've met seem a fairly amiable bunch though.Desecrated wrote:I remember looking into it a couple of years ago and it was absolutely nothing but infighting, drama and nonsense. I was really interested in it for a while, but I got to the point where I needed to stick to one path and OTO had to temporarily go on the back burner. I was working through the information on this website: http://www.ordoaa.org/
I like the above site because it gives you tasks for each level of their system and provides the pdfs you need there on the site. A great low budget option for the shallow-pocketed and anti-social Thelemite. [gz]
I found this blog post on /r thelema on Reddit where this guy discusses why he re-joined the OTO. You might like that subreddit, it is pretty active. http://fraterbarrabbas.blogspot.com/201 ... d-oto.html
I am interested in discussing the Thelema further if you or someone else has something a topic to talk about.
