Boaz and Joachim

Post by Bobby Jack »

First and foremost, the Moon: Alot of people call me Bobby Jack because my Cousin's name was Bobby and my Uncle's name was Jack, and we didn't know which one was the daddy. But the truer thing is that Boaz and Joachim, the pillars of form, are what is referenced. Wisdom and Beauty, as they are called, are the Pillars outside the entrance to the City of Tears, in Sidon. ha ha. A play on words is what we are made of here, as mental forms beget material forms in all cases. She-whom-I-serve sits betwixt mind and body, the Pillar of Force, where emotion crystalizes thoughts into things in the womb of GodDESS where the Platonic Solids are kept.
The High Priestess is described here, and Ace of Cups/Hearts. Yet there is another Pillar of Force, the Elemental Flame or Masculine Principle, given rise to by the radiating power of Love, which emanates from the Negative Pole, is the Fire Element, The Ace of Clubs/Wands and those to pillars of Force are Yen and Yang trying to form a union of opposites across the Sword of The mind. The Element Air is that Sword and like the Scales of Libra above and The Ace of Spades below nothing can Trump its Justice. The Emotional Pillar of Force, the Holy Grail or Ace of Cups, receives it connection from the Moon or High Priestess, who's Power in turn derives from the Great Mother, Celestial Water, or in the Tarot, the Hanged Man, in space known as the Void. The Fire Element or Ace of Wands is Fed by the Sun and fueled by Judgment, the Father.

I will move this topic to another folder,as it shouldn't be in here.
This folder is for issues and problems concerning the operating of the site itself,it's for things like posting issues or log in problems and so on,to alert us to any problems and also for suggestions and ideas concerning improvements etc.

Ceremonial folder I think,for now,at least.

Care to indulge me in a bit of free association?

"Boaz and Jachin" are the names given to the two pillars that stood on either side of the entrance to the Jewish temple of Yahweh that once stood in Jerusalem until it was destroyed by the Romans in the year 136 AD in their determination to put an end to repeated Jewish rebellions against Roman rule over Judea:

A symbolic representation of the pair of pillars known as "Boaz and Jachin" also figure prominently in Masonic lodge temples:

Likewise these are depicted on a tarot card - the Priestess:

Another pair of pillars symbolizing "The Pillars of Hercules" also appear on certain tarot cards:

The yellow sparks in the shape of "Yod" (drops of light) are the Hebrew letter Y - the first letter of the name of the Jewish god, Yahweh. The Hebrew letter "Yod" represents the divine spark of creative energy that comes from Yahweh from which he created everything. These tarot cards were designed by the occultist and Freemason, Arthur Edward Waite, in 1909 with added Kabbalistic symbolism based on earlier tarot decks dating back to the 1500's.

In terms of geography, the "Pillars of Hercules" are the mountains that lie on each side of the Strait of Gibraltar - the gateway to the Atlantic Ocean and the New World that lies beyond:

For centuries Spanish coins have borne symbolic depictions of the Pillars of Hercules as described in ancient mythology:

The motto that appears on the coins reads "Plus Ultra" meaning "more beyond" - i.e. "more lies beyond" or "there is more beyond this"

Our modern day dollar symbol is derived from these representations of the Pillars of Hercules entwined with a scroll that appeared on the back early Spanish coins:

The concept of the twin towers of the World Trade Center were very much inspired by the mythological symbol of the pillars of Hercules, representing the riches of capitalism in the New World, as well as by the two columns Boaz and Jachin which guarded the entrance to the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem:

The Jewish deity Yahweh is conceived of as being the ultimate source of all creative energy and light, and according to the doctrines of Lunaric Kabbalah, when Yahweh supposedly created the universe, something went wrong and some of the vessels (kelim) containing the Yod (drops of divine light - particles of Yahweh's essence) shattered and the shards of darkness became the source of evil in the world.

Jews believe that each Jew contains a divine spark or drop of light (Yod) that is a part of Yahweh, which is what makes the Jews Yahweh's "chosen people", while the rest of humanity contains only the broken shards of darkness that are the seed of evil.

Jews believe that this imperfect world must be brought to an end through Tikkun Olam, (repairing the world), a process that involves all of the divine sparks of light that exist in each Jew being returned to the godhead that is Yahweh, and all of the shattered splinters of darkness being destroyed.
In the beginning there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were made by him, and nothing was made without him. In him there was life, and that life was the light of all people. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it.

The Mystery of Yod

Suspended in mid-air, Yod is the smallest of the Hebrew letters, the "atom" of the consonants, and the form from which all of the other letters begin and end:

The first dot with which the scribes first start writing a letter, or the last dot that gives a letter its final form -- is a yod. (Likutei Maharan)

In the Jewish mystical tradition, Yod represents a mere dot, a divine point of energy. Since Yod is used to form all the other letters, and since God uses the letters as the building blocks of creation, Yod indicates God's omnipresence.

In fact, the word יוֹד (yod) itself depicts something of the geometry of creation. It begins with the Yod itself, as a dot, and then moves downward, from the divine toward the created order to form Vav (the "hook" of creation). Finally it moves outward in the horizontal realm as Dalet (the "doorway" of creation).

Since Yod is part of every Hebrew letter (and therefore every word), Yod is considered the starting point of the presence of God in all things - the "spark" of the Spirit in everything.
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."
Yahweh - the name of the Jews' god in Hebrew:
