And here be a new one

Post by MadRik »

Hello to all.

I'm a bit of a lone wolf when it comes to my studies in the occult and some might call me more of a dabbler than a practitioner of any one sort. I've delved into witchcraft and have some mild knowledge in demonology and angelology. I lean on the side of light but have a fascination with and some basic knowledge of that whole very broad spectrum. Know the enemy and all that.

Anyhow, I've considered becoming more invested in this world for a long time. When I was young, I was very clairvoyant and had a number of paranormal experiences but I forced myself to 'grow up' and have since lost it, as many do. I want to open those gates again. Just not sure where to start or how but figured I'd rummage around, read, and say hi.

Would love to meet people up in my area but that's a long shot.

Cheers for now.

I've never heard the word angelology until now. What is the difference between a demon and an angel, MadRik? Nice to meet you.

Many thanks. Hope to gain some more insight.

This conversation could become a heated debate incredibly fast.

You could argue that everything existing, including demi-gods, spirits, creatures of damnation or of good faith are all God's creation and that wouldn't be exactly wrong from my perspective of belief but not going down that root and simplifying something rather complex here, Angels are created by God.

Demons are created by what once belonged to God but has since been twisted by darkness.

I see. So, what do you mean by God?

Frankly, I can't tell if you're serious here or not. If I was speaking of a God as opposed to the God I would have used the name. Although typically one assumes that if there is no name attached to the God being spoken of then it is the singular God worshipped in the Abrahamic religions.

Yes, I was being serious. Even if we limited ourselves to discussing a single religion, the word God can have more than one meaning. It's one of the most complex philosophical topics of all time.

I agree to some respect that all things supernatural are indeed a complexity, especially when flying the title 'God' but for simplification I mean the Creator. I do believe there is one single entity that put all matter of space and time into motion, that crafted all things. I do not believe there is only one superpower in the world. After all, if 'He' is to be worshipped above all others that means there are others. And that alone get's quite complex.

I suppose that I should ask what exactly you seek to know about God, Demons, and Angels (minding that it would be in my experience and belief) before a further conversation on the topic arises. To ask 'what is a demon, god, or angel' is a really broad question.

I don't know much about the occult, so I hang out here to learn from cool people like you. Reading your post was the first time I read the word angelology, so that made me curious to know how you define demons and angels. Your definition is different than some other occultists I've read about or communicated with. For example, I remember Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki once saying that angels are energy vortexes.

You might be undercutting yourself a bit when you say you don't know much about the occult. Very few people wake up knowing things, although it does happen. Some people have a gift but others acquire and build knowledge and the spectrum of what is true or possible is incredibly varied. That all said and done, there's not a whole lot stopping you from finding a pathway that works for you.

As for Angels, it's been said that the interpretation of what they are in physical form differs from person to person when an event occurs that one might contact them. I can't say I subscribe to the idea that they are an energy vortex but they are a form of energy given that everything is, really. Were you looking for an answer that is more concrete? I study the Angels, who they are, what they represent, but I have yet to attempt invoking any of them and am far from knowing all of them.

Your answer was just fine. How do you study angels?

Primarily I study beneath the banners of some greater people, Crowley for instance. I pray, meditate, and have recently begun the journey of opening myself back up to these worlds. I am not as eager to take up the philosophies of newer practices. I find myself more interested in the old.
