Can't change e-mail address

I tried to change my e-mail address and I couldn't.

The control panel says I used a wrong password - which is nonsense: I even changed my password (with the log-in's "I forgot my password" option), because I thought it's me who made the mistake.
But no, I remembered correctly - then why does the control panel says I can't change my e-mail address?
Maybe it's not possible?
