Planetary Hour vs Planetary Day

Post by Yex »

Let's say you are performing a ritual pertaining to a particular planet, but you are unable to find time to do so on the corresponding planetary day and hour. Is it better to go with the day, or the hour? For example, if I want to do a ritual involving mercury, is it better to do it on Wednesday, on an hour that isn't the hour of mercury; or on another day of the week, during one of mercury's hours?

It is better to go with the Day. The day is the major influence, the hour, the minor influence. As long as you don't do the working in an hour of a planet that is opposite of your aim, it should still be effective. It will however, take on a 'flavour' of the hour you perform the working in.

Timing things is very difficult. Especially when you consider the day, hour, moon phase, zodiac, quarter / cross quarter days etc. I usually focus on the first three, unless a working is designated for a Sabbat day or im actually trying to work with the stars.

its something i need to do alot of re reading about to work it more cleverly into my practice.
