do you agree with Baptists Head's ideas

Post by beero »

Hi,

I was wondering how much you all agree with some of the ideas found on the Baptists Head website - http://thebaptistshead.co.uk which seems to be a popular site
a couple of things which spring to mind are
1 you don't need gnosis or altered states for success with magick, all you need are belief
2 a sigil could be any symbol even unrelated to the statement of intent and the same sigil could be reused for different statement of intent - same thing is you could just decide to invent a ritual and decide what outcome it will bring and it will work

I don't intend any disrespect to the creators of this website and I think they are very highly regarded. when I have been doing magick I have nearly always taken the more common route i.e. the well known methods of creating sigils and (attempting to) charge them with gnosis/altered state - with one sigil or ritual being used for each intent. my opinion is that you must need lots of deeply held belief and conviction in what you are doing to get results from the methods they propose.
what are your opinions on this?

A. You don't need to keep your hands on the steering-wheel while driving a car but it helps.

B. You can use your car as a impromptu snowplow, pull hey, or take out the engine and live in it.
BUT, it would be easier to just use a shuffle, buy a tractor or live in a tent.
