Reputation of the Goetia?

Post by XxMxX »

If many magicians utilized the traditional methods of evocation for so long (I would imagine also those of the Golden Dawn and OTO), why don't they also believe in the any of the Abrahamic religions. I imagine that at least some would. So If some do, then by their belief in that god, they are admitting to working sorcery and that is a BIG no-no in the Bible, Torah, and Quran. If some people don't believe these demons to be fallen angels working for Satan, then why would they follow protocol developed by magicians who did? Those middle eastern magicians thought those spirits to be lower than the dirt we walk on, since they rebelled against their creator as well as man. That would obviously lead to very angry/aggravated responses by the spirits because they treat them with no respect, being threatened into doing everything that takes place during a session. I was just thinking it's no wonder they seem so malevolent to people who use the Solomon methods, which were developed on the beliefs of these authoritative jews. Invoking archangels that defeated them, a nine foot circle covered in god names, brazers for tormenting the spirit, sigils galore for submission, calling the same god that supposedly massacred the followers of these former gods for protection; It would seem that their vile/dangerous reputation is a direct product of this. I have been told about Planetary High Magick and have turned to that, but I have also been told this whole view in this topic text by a planetary magician, so I was just wondering if this whole "misconception" of the spirits would be true.

I also realized that a lot of people use many different gods/patrons/beliefs for aid in this communication too. So i would imagine there is a very wide variety of methods from various religions/cultures that can be used for successful work with these spirits. But my confusion is on the legitimacy of the abrahamic viewpoint.

Well, ahem , I don't know to much about Islam so I won't speak on there behalf. My appologies .

Firstly in the apocraphal books Satan is seen as a group of entitys being led by ha ~ Satan . Not bad but more like in a game where certain people play the bad guy , they are told to play it because the game would be no fun if it had no trials/ enemies. So they are still angels just on a diffrent team , that is why god is seen with them , even makeing bets ( see job ).
I belive that the whole don't use magic thing in the Bible is meant for lay people ( mosses used some pretty wicked magic ) , or a mistranslation.

Just my two cents
hail chaos and have fun
