Sense8 (on Netflix)

Post by Stukov »

Has anyone seen this show yet, it was available on Netflix starting last Friday. The show really resonated with me as what they do (without spoiling too much) is very similar to things I've described on here as shadow walking or dream walking. Though the differences the show seems to have is they need to have a "cluster" to connect with each other, where I've been able to do it with pretty much anyone. I also have focused more doing so in my dream state than in waking life, though I've done things (not directly related to the show) in waking states. But I'm really starting to think I should refocus on it and see if I can start doing in waking/conscious states again.

I tried to watch it but couldn't get into it. I read that it's one that you have to binge watch to appreciate. Since you liked it, maybe I'll give it another try:)

Yeah its sorta of a really long movie that has pauses for taking a break for food or bathroom breaks. It is an amazing piece of work showing the connection and personal story of 8 people.

I was up until 5 am watching last night. Yes, it really grabbed me after the second episode. I've had similar experiences druing dreamtime, except I became other people in different countries. I've wondered if there was some kind of soul connection between me and those I became. Both time the people were dying. One in a war and one in an earthquake.

This would be an excellent skill to practice during meditation.

I am not into Netflix at this point in time but since I cannot find this series in DVD and seems to be exclusive for subscribers of this online streaming service, I might actually consider taking the free 1 month trial and watch it on my computer. It sounds like a very interesting and occult-oriented science fiction show. Coming from the guys behind The Matrix and Cloud Atlas, that looks promising as well.

The Wachoskis (formerly brothers but one of them has changed genders, which one of the characters is as well) are more the directors/producers (though they may and episode or two of credits), the creator and showrunner (and I believe main script writer) is the guy who made Babylon 5. The show was created with 5 "seasons" in mind. If able to watch it let me know what you think of it. I doubt it will be on DVD as this is a Netflix Original, I have seen it on "non-legal" sites though.

I just finished the series, thanks Stuka, ya bombed me. I think this will stay with me forever as there are so many elements in this series that I relate to.
Spoiler:
I realize they have to add a plot device like ultra violence and paranoid governments to jazz it up. I actually had some insomnia but I guess it was worth it. I don't watch much TV anymore and I avoid watch violent shows. Did I mension this series is violent?! [eek]

I am just finished and thought it was awesome.
Spoiler:
I usually get irritated by explcit sex scenes, but this show really took that in hand and made it all integrated and emotionally connective, important to the story and theme. Sensitive stuff, sensitively handled indeed.
