Identifying a piece of Jewelry I own?

Post by DarkSchneider »

I found a necklace at the thrift store. I'd like to know what it's meaning and purpose is if anyone is able to recognize the markings engraved on it. I think it's either something Goetic or Rune based but I can't really put my finger on it. I know I've seen something like this before.

It kind of reminds me of an enochian talisman,
But you're right...
It certainly does remind me of both rune and goetic talismans. ~

Are you sure it's not a mixture of some kind?

@Kurokami

I have no idea. I noticed lately this thrift store had some oddities and I might have not seen it last time. I grabbed it the second I saw it on a rack.

It would be time consuming to consult my books but I know I've must have seen this before...

So I was googling around and I think I know what it is now,
It is a sigil,
But I honestly do not know about the strange letters all around the sigil.

The sigil looks similar to an enochian sigil - with the long lines connecting what appears to be rune symbols.

As for the letters all around the sigil ... Some of them appear greek.

But I don't know,
I have no knowledge in other languages.

But it doesn't mean that I cannot compare and contrast through internet research...

As far I know - It is a sigil talisman.

Either for:
1.) Protection
2.) Attracting something
3.) Empowerment
4.) Good luck
5.) It could be an angel's sigil or a demon's or a god's

Someone really needs to help out here,
Because I know I have no right trying to help out when I have no knowledge of this stuff.

Anyways,
Um. @O.P. - What are the names of the books that you mentioned that you have which could help figure out what this is?

Maybe I can get free copies of those books and hit the pages and see what I can find? :)

@Kurokami

I consulted the Key of Solomon and a book called "the Book of Signs" by Rudolf Koch. I know where I think I saw it but it's not conclusive. In the Book of Signs, on the back and in the contents it shows a similar picture. I will post it. The similar picture is a stone mason symbol.

My friend suggested it's probably an icelandic magical stave or something nordic.

I noticed in the Key of Solomon, there are these crossing symbols on the seals themselves. But nothing exactly like what I have.

Yeah I saw that exact same symbol on google images,
And then another that was almost like the one in your O.P.

Thank you for the book title,
I will look for a free copy of it,
Download it and study it as best I can.

And then I'll report back here.

If someone beats me too it I won't reply. xD

BTW, Kurokami, thank you so much for your assistance.

Don't mind me I'm just distracted by this and I'm putting some time into much needed research :P

I am grateful for your assistance and it is a valuable and welcomed gesture :)

I don't think I should wear this until I at least know what it means.

Found it.
Moon Talisman
Protection
Luck
Wealth
Success
Safe Travel
Solomon Pewter pendant

I found it by swooshing through similar looking talismans/amulets on google images.

When I finally found it, it linked me to ebay and then I copied the details.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I was sooo getting ready to study the symbols of greek and rune, but I guess I don't need to anymore. lol.
