Actually, that post was more about me than you. I'm having quite an introspective kind of day today.
I was mostly talking about the difference between what people are taught vs what it actually says.

Hello Cybernetic_Jazz,
Gold is where you find it. If you are more in harmony with the Near Eastern traditions and can find Light within them then this is where you need to be at this point in your life. Certainly, there are many millions of people who are inspired and made better people by their Christian faith in forms both exoteric and esoteric. I think that's wonderful.
On the other hand, yours IS an edited (in a good way) version and all of Manly P. Hall's 'secret readings' is a projection onto the texts. They are not there in itself. I can speak to this question of translation since I can and spent a long time studying the Bible in the original languages. Being forced to read closely and consistently is one the main factors that pushed me away from Christianity. That applies equally to the New as well as the Old Testaments. Rose Red is correct, although that is not all that is there it is certainly significant.

TY, right on.
The other thing - when I mentioned talking by PM - I mostly meant the kind of stuff that only we'd find interesting or just stuff that we'd rather barbarically be hijacking this thread with (ie. going into the fine detail and nuts/bolts of history in the way that you've been able to learn from your friend).

I still don't know if I fully trust M P Hall's scholarship so much as he stood on the shoulders of some of the best and gives a wonderful overview. Certain things he says about dynamics don't really fit and I may tend to boil down the tapestry a bit more (I'd have to really study the Phoenecian/Canaanite religions and mysteries as well to see what was drawn in from that specific sector albeit the Melchizedek/Jesus thing speaks volumes on its own). I do think Plato/Pythagoras do hold the keys to the near-eastern mysteries and that Plato, Pythagoras, Corpus Hermetica, Gospel of John all have a wonderful interwoven threads. As for the Great Lady of 10,000 names I love the model that displays her as the two H's of YHVH, Binah and Malkuth. Part of my specific interest with her have been my own experiences, whether visions or encounters on more of a sort of strange spacial/tactile/emotional plane without really a visual lock which is a bit weird to explain. She was in my life before I knew who or what she was and she did something recently that helped me verify her identity.

And what's wrong with that?
Nothing at all. It just isn't for me. I don't even know who enya is to be honest... Aromatherapy? Well, i burn incense ritually, but I wouldn't call it aromatherapy. There's nothing wrong with either thing, just as there is nothing wrong with Buddhism or Hinduism. But I'm not a Buddhist or a Hindu, so i don't follow their practices.
