I have doing some work with sigils and meditation which has lead me again into pathworking on the tree of life. I have had some good progress but of course as I usually do I have done a good job of "clouding the waters". I just wanted to bounce some ideas off everyone and see what you think.
I have been working on a sigil I created of the name Yeheshua from the rose cross for meditation. I usually begin with empty minded as I burn the sigil into my brain followed by continplative meditation to see what comes up. It is often either symbols or train of thought. Here is a recent experence of train of thought: Yeheshua is the completed man, and it is also called the pentagammetion. The pentagammeton is symbolized by the pentagram. The pentagram is a symbol of the 27th path. The 27th pathâ??s tarot card is the blasted tower. So, adept hood leads to or is a product of the destruction of the ego.
At first I was very happy with this discovery but after some thought I am thinking I might be wrong in my line of thought. The pentagram is listed by crowley as the symbol of the 27th path but is that a correct application? I would think that it more properly is a symbol of the path 25th leading from Yesod to Tipherath which is the Portal... The point of equilibrium in the Bow of Sagitarius that launches across the destruction of the Tower to the Left and to the Right unto Tiphareth. The Pentagram is the main symbol of the Portal grade is my line of thinking. The Portal grade is attributed to the 5th element or "quintessence" of Spirit and the magical powers of 25th is Transmutations, so that sounds right. 5x5=25
Another interpertaition is that the bar between Hod and Netzach is the Tower of disastrous breakdown -- the completely rational approach of Hod is an illusion that breaks down into the emotionally radical approach of Netzach which breaks down the other direction -- the Tower exchanges the energies of each sphere into the other without progress, only perfect Temperance gets beyond the limitations of either...If you try to get to tiphareth from the other paths of either Hod or Netzach you face either Death or the Devil!
You can see how I have been running in circles. Does anyone have any thoughts?

eh... I know what you mean man. The main problem I have with Pathworking is I'll be there waiting for some inspiration, and fairly often of late it will come... but the thing is when it is 'borderline', I don't have any idea whether it really was an authentic experience, or whether I created it myself in my own imagination?! There seems to be some kind of border that one crosses before one becomes the other, it's a border I haven't quite been able to figure out yet.
As to your own experience... well I'd say the pentagram isn't a symbol to that could be attriubted to any path in particular, it's such an all-encompassing idea... seems like it would be more appropriate to interpret it in relation to your previous thoughts on the 27th path, and try and find connections, try and see what light this idea sheds on what you had before. Hope that helps... I only wish my experiences could be that clear... I've had christmas carols playing in my ears, or my head being chopped off from some of mine, they get very weird sometimes.

Another interpretation for 'The Tower' is that of spirit penetrating matter. This would tie in to the pentagram as it is the four elements with the addition of spirit. Likewise the pentagramaton is the tetragramaton with the addition of spirit (The letter Shin).
The destruction element of 'The Tower' can be seen as the necessary ending of all matter as it relates to spirit - ie the eventual breaking up of all forms as opposed to the endurance of spirit.
You said in regarding 'The Tower' that "adept hood leads to or is a product of the destruction of the ego." I agree with that sentiment, but I would apply it to the 'Death' card standing between Netzach and Tiphareth. The Death in question being the death of the ego.
I guess I could throw in too, since you kind of brought it up, that I interpret 'The Devil' between Hod (intellect) and Tiphareth standing for Illusion and limitations of the intellect (reason, theology ect.) Look at the card as depicted in the Rider-Wait deck and I think you'll see that the chains holding the figures in bondage are in fact very loose and would be easy to slip out of. Just as the Devil is litereraly a 'bad idea' that can keep our mind in bondage, here he stands for all bad ideas of the mind - illusions - that keep beauty (tiphareth) out of our reach.
Finally I think 'Temperance' represents the HGA. One foot in the water (subconscious) one foot on dry land (conscious) pouring the stream of though from one to the other. It's very Jungian I know...
Anyway, I hope it goes with out saying but that's just my understanding. Take or reject of it what you will...
