This is probably not going to be another talking points... but I'm interesting in knowing the experience of practising magicians:
When you have a cold or a fever, is it better to keep doing the daily rituals or is it better to just rest?
As far as my own intuition goes, it's going to clean up some of the systems in a good way, but the energy spent on doing the rituals might null that effect.

I do ritual even when I am sick as I still need to do protection stuff. I just do them in bed instead of elsewhere.
I don't know what the experts here do.

well ive read around on the web that when one does magic like in a fever or something it is called misery magic. like how a fever puts you in bed and you cant get up kind of thing is ideal to use magic as it is like very powerful you would say.
IMO, i would say to just continue using magic even if sick as radiant star has done. and it makes your magic stronger i think i havent tried it myself but that is what i read on it.

Well, to be honest, I often use the Middle Pillar to heal myself of such things.

There was one month where I stop exercising, I had colds and sore throats everyday, despite of that, I just carried on, I see no reason to stop, unless of course... I am sneezing tons of blood out.
I am not sure about the nulling of effect, can you elaborate more? In fact sometimes after about 15 minutes into the rituals I feel my nose cleared and replaced by a kind of feeling that is hard to describe(sort of like a sanctuary within the circle that is cleaner than the outside).

This just made me chuckle. "I'm not an occultist but I play one on TV"
I don't do ritual very often anyway, but when I'm sick I'll try some healing and stuff. I still will do my meditations and verses and things of that nature, but I avoid sending energy to anyone during the time and I try to focus my energy just on getting better.

I meant that a heavy banishing takes some energy which you have very little of when you are sick. Also, I've heard (from experts) that qigong / taichi style of exercises are bad for you when you have a cold, because it circulates the sickness all over the place. Same goes for jogging of course, but then it's more physical, circulating the actual viruses etc.Astral Alien wrote:I am not sure about the nulling of effect, can you elaborate more?
That sounds pretty nice, I will try that next time I have a bad cold.In fact sometimes after about 15 minutes into the rituals I feel my nose cleared and replaced by a kind of feeling that is hard to describe(sort of like a sanctuary within the circle that is cleaner than the outside).

For me, that depends on the seriousness of the illness... I follow my intuition in this regard. I often cease doing my normal rituals, but aid in the healing of the illness through visualisation, energy work & positive affirmation.

From my experience this depends on the exercise, some of them can be quite helpful... others can be harmful, depending on the circumstances. Also, I've heard (from experts) that qigong / taichi style of exercises are bad for you when you have a cold, because it circulates the sickness all over the place.
