Talking Points on Star Ruby?
Original post: Hoor-paar-Kraat
I'm assuming this got deleted in the hacking as well.
I'd really like to know about the experiences had by others, concerning the performance of this ritual as I've recently added it to my daily ritual and meditative regimine.
My current daily ritual is comprised of:
Stretching & Breathing Exercises
Qabalistic Cross
Lesser Pentegram Ritual (invoking)
Middle Pillar
Star Ruby
Meditation
Record of Ritual
I'm an artist who's currently looking for a pre-work ritual diet and any help is appreciated.

'Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole Of The Law'
This is all you need to keep in mind when deciding a ritual 'diet'. Whatever works best for yourself is best.
The Star Ruby ritual is to replace the Lesser Pentegram ritual. There is nothing wrong with it, but it just would seem pointless for me as the energies of the Star Ruby would overlap that of the Lesser Pentegram. I know that once I began to practice the Star Ruby the Lesser Pentegram ritual lost much of its power. For me it began to seem like going back to an Atari when I had a Playstation.
I would practice the Star Sapphire ritual as well, even if you are terrible at it. You should get better with determination and practice.
Liber Resh is highly important and should not be omitted.
Something which has always been a part of my ritual work is a daily invocation of both Thoth and Mercury. A nice ritual for invoking Mercury is given in "Liber Israfel". Also for any other work you may be doing seek out the appropriate god or goddess and invoke them.
Though this may be a bit advanced for most it is best to invoke the Holy Guardian Angel as well.

93 HpK,
I have always found the Star Ruby to be very "agressive." I find the Thelemic godnames more...unfettered when compared to those of the LBRP. I'm not suggesting a pissing match between say ADNI and Hadit but that the Hebrew godnames, for me at least, seem much more structured and contained...perhaps this has to do with the long history of the names. The Thelemic ones strike me as much more dynamic and I would agree withg KCh that if you are using the LBRP for banishing purposes then there is probabaly no reason to overlap the rituals. Perhaps you could try your "diet" with one of the banishing ritual for a month or so and then switch to the other and see what happens.

I find LBRP more of an 'experience' - not sure why, I just love vibrating those names as opposed to 'Nuit' - I feel... less safe with the Star Ruby. Although, I have found some new ideas regarding SR and gematria - maybe this news will change the impact of the ritual. Thanks.

Do peopel tend to use the original version with KAOS/Babylon or the later version with Therion?
I have to admit, I didn't find them to overlap. I've always viewed the Star Ruby as more of a "projection" of banishing, with the throwing of the pentagram out into the ether, as opposed to the calling into before me in the LBRP.
Here's a question: we are having a wonderful discussion on the LBRP, and how it really can work with all the elements etc., I wonder, can this be said of the star ruby as well?
I've often wondered about the effect of using godnames in place of archangels.

Well, there is the THERION/NUIT/BABALON/HADIT version, and the older version KAOS/BABALON/EROS/PSYCHE. I 've tried a version like KAOS?NUIT/BABALON/HADIT.

I think what Crowley was getting at is that the pentegram is man's control over the microcosm and the hexagram was his control over the macrocosm. His Thelemic versions of the rituals were more personalized, which is probably why he used Therion and Babylon.

He used THERION and BABYLON? I thought it was Babalon which in Enochian Gematria is 156, I thought since it was mentioned in thise convo, and relates to Star Ruby I could ask.
Which is more correct - Babalon or Babylon? And I have a thought that he changed it to effect the Gematria in it, I believe Gematria is a major part of this form of LBR. Thanks.

I have not employed the SR or SS as they just do not sit right with me... but I will say that this is mostly due to my G.'.D.'. affiliation.
As to the Enochian reference there are always variations in translation but I have found these to be the most consistant.
BABALON.....Wicked, (the)= 154
BABALOND...Harlot, (a).....= 158
Gematria as per Aurum Solis
