How many levels do you believe there to be? We are on one, obviously not
the bottom or the top. Many religions, peoples, say that there are a certain
number. My friend said he read the Hopi Native American tribe believes it is
7, and we are on the third or fourth. Which would you consider the astral plane?

I don't know, so I could be wrong- but I would say there are an infinite number of levels. Otherwise we will eventually get to a point where we can no longer progress to higher levels of reality, and the only thing to do will be to accept stasis (which is, as far as I'm concerned, the worst idea possible) or to go back to lower levels... Going to lower levels makes no sense, as you've already improved beyond them and learned what you could from them- it's uninproving yourself, which you don't want, either.
Since it doesn't make much sense that everyone is destined to wind up in such a hellish trap for eternity (in any case, if there was a highest level, why wouldn't the physical be it? what's the point of other levels at all, if they end- it's basically some sort of extended materialism), I would have to say that the levels of reality are unending.

these r probably the forces/relm ppl summon when using magic.but i consider these an element in itself....part of the cycle of universe etc...these probably make the astral in a way..
astrally speaking there is no time or space....so its limitless...doesnt mean it doesnt exist but the astral isnt bound by space/time like this relm....anything strong enough will even tully manifest in this relm....astral is our future..and our present is the past to the astral...

Well we could probably use any form of refference to create various plains. If we use the zodiac to decribe the existance of the human soul in relation to plains of reality as a process of cyclical evolution the soul is a being of many incarnations and many factors. All of which I believe that I many others are too "young" to really know them all. If I'm a Gemini, born on the 16 of june I can maybe infere that I am on a gemini cycle, the 24th of which in my complete exstance (may 24, approximate begining of gemini cycle through june 16). Yet since gemini is the fourth zodiac I can say I'm one the four plain of existance in my 24th life on this level. I will not achieve an existance in another level until I complete the gemini cycle. This doesn't mean I can't travel to other realms just that my current incarnation is "governed" by the cycle of gemini. I say governed because in my mundane life my existance is articulated by a gemini cycle - the fourth(I third I can't remember what zodic is the first so maybe third of fifth) realm of existance in my 24th life as a gemini. With however many life times to reach the next zodiac or plain of existance. I think all incarnations exist as in live in on the mundane but are able to percieve astral light and thus able to percive other plains on the astral field and furthermore utilize any energies that may be specific to one plain.
If space and time is an eternal continuum than that means if we reduce the astral plains to twelve plains (for this part of explaination it doesn't even matter if there are twelve or 1000) and that we are beings constantly living in these plains, regardless of how many life times it takes to traverse between one realm or another, then the total number of lives is exponential and we are unable to determine a real age for any one soul. Nor are we able to infere which level can be negated as heaven or hell. In fact I'd say rather than heaven or hell its more likely to be a begining and end. When one completes a full cycle of the zodiac, they live the lives of approximetly 360 (360 degress to a circle or continuum) they begin anew in the first zodiac of the cycle in the next phase. So that begining, what ever it is, could be equated to hell simply because as a new starting point one wuld be like a child and all is unknown. Since time seems to be progressive I don't think we can live in the past and change it, unless we are in a whole seperatly different continuum that starts one off in a time zone before time they lived in in this continuum, perhaps to "relearn" something that wasn't but should've been in this life time. Provided one doesn't enter a new continuum, for what ever reason this is all hypothetical anyways, then if they regress into the past then in a way the future is preordained and the reason is probably to pick up something that should've been in this life. Or perhpas one most relive this life until they learn all that is needed to progess further. The only way time its not is if we take control of the direction of events in the present. But since time travels in one direction, even as a part of one cycle that will begin a new cycle, the past is set in stone (theoretically). The only way one could alter the past is if they were in a different dimention, a whole nother continuum.

Ok so with out entering another cafeine induced rant, yeah right. Let me say this. I believe the true being of a person is its soul. As beings that live in animated bodies picking up relative "godling" lessons while ascending or decending deeper into reality. This reality can be perceived from the level of the soul as the astral plains. In order to describe the plains themselves one could really create as many levels as the feel are needed. My post above used the zodiac as an example. As far as all that time, dimentional crap its immaterial to the topic except to say that levels of astral reality could include dimentions of time. Perhaps if time is not linear then when we die we re-animate in a past life. That people who see lives from the past are in a way seeing a present time dimention they haven't encountered yet but will. Kind of seeing into the past to see the future of another life. Then when sombody sees something in the future they are actually recalling something they've seen in a life they lived in the future. But if time truely is not linear than going forward or backwards into different lives is indeterminate. Also since some souls seem to be "older" than others one could guess that maybe each indivdual being is their own "reality" composed of varying levels of self that are reflected by this mundane level, in its entirity, that could actually be god itself. We being developing entities who progress and regress from different states of awareness and capacity in relation to time, the progress of human/alien society and spiritual development. We are like children in the the crib figuring out how to become greater/lesser beings until we either become gods ourselves or regress back into bacterium.
Though we can not recall the lessons and abilities learned from living after death I think the soul does retain this knowledge. But inorder to truely learn one can not start by knowing everything so they must relearn as a blank slate in each new life. Then from time to time one is able to pick up on traits learned from the more natural/primitive orienited lives in the past or the more developed technological lives in the future. Perhaps exploration of these is something like one might find through the tree of life concept. Maybe this exploration is actually inner space, not astral space. Thus traveling though innerspace that we call astral space is really our souls accumulated happenings from all reality developing as one, timeless entity, god. Perhaps we are actually one true soul and as individuals we are like the fruit of the trees. Or if not that maybe the individual cells of this tree of life.
Under these strange ideas each person could be its own reality of levels of being, making 6 billion different realities, and growing, that are each within this one "entity", metaphorical tree of life, that is true god and true reality. That being a forest of realities. Each tree being its own god in relation to others around it. Each individual human and animal a seed that either sprouts into a new tree or is absorbed by another, greater one. Yeah my quantum computer is recieving some strange emails that I myself have diffeculty decifering except through rambling and metaphor. Psychonaut in action.
