Are you getting a swaying felling or fill like your floating while your laying there. More info on the way you go about it would be good to.

i feel very light like im in my astral body but still in my physical body at the same time. its kinda hard to explain. mostly i feel light but when i try to move its always my physical body. i havent had any vibrations with this either. i did when i tried to project the first time (a couple of weeks ago) i felt some vibrations and like i was rising but i havent been able to get that same feeling again.

This might sound odd...but did you try to open your eyes?
I don't have a lot of practice with being astral, but I'm pretty good with dreams. If I don't make myself do things I'll just stand there...doing nothing.
I'd imagine being astral could be the same. If you 'enter the astral' in your sleep, it stands to reason that your eyes might be closed...so open them
*shrug*

the first time for me was when my hand left the position of the hand itself, and I could feel my body, and then when i came to, I realized that would have been impossible, since my sheet was in the way, and didnt move at all.
The second time was a full blown OBE, and it was during a state I would say was half way between where REM ends and where deep meditation begins. (or in the reverse, where deep meditation ends, and REM is almost ready to begin).
Astral projection itself is little to nothing like a dream, and when your body realigns itself, you will be absolutely certain of the difference. I would say a dream is like unto Niquil while astral projection is like unto touching an electric fence for a half second. Not exactly like that, but thats kind of the contrast. - at least in my experience
Thus my best advice on the matter is go deeper into consciousness, but always keep in the back of your mind, the desire to move at any moment's notice. This is similar to mantras you set for yourself ot remember to do specific things in dreams. Note that if you can feel and recognize any itch, twinge, flash of light, or sound, including your own breathing, you are not deep enough. Instead, listen for your own blood pressure, and wait for reality to register as a distant dream, like a memory.

Stargate-
You are getting very close, but you need to be patient. Conscious AP takes a long time for some people, and you could be one of those. Impatience is really detrimental though.
Try reading about AP for an hour or so before bed, get it ingrained in your subconscious that that's what you want to do. Then go to sleep, but set your alarm to wake you up after only 5 or 6 hours. When you get up, stay awake for only about 15 or 20 minutes, then lay back down and just relax. Don't try for a projection- just let your mind wander wherever it wants, just as long as your body is fully relaxed and in that "sleep" state.
Sometimes this method works better for people than just trying to AP before sleep. It removes any expectations you may have for yourself. But above all, just remember there are people out there who have been trying for years and still haven't yet. It's not an easy thing to do for a lot of people.
I hope that helped!

Astral projection seems to be quite advanced, even I haven't managed it yet, not that I am really working to achieve it.
For the time being I am content to work on shielding, empathic and telepathic techniques which don't require me to leave my body.
Last night I had fun with a mirror shield. Two dirty schoolkids were trying some kind of psychic attack on me so I just flipped on a mirror shield (not a full body thing just enough to cover in thier direction). They had a look of horror on thier faces and rolled on the ground when their energy was reflected back! I guess that taught them a lesson. Thats is not the first time I have seen physical effects of psychic attacks that have backfired on people. I wouldn't usually use a mirror shield but this attack was entirely unprovoked so they got what they deserved! The funny thing is that these inexperienced people attack without having any shielding themselves - I bet they'll be hurting for weeks!

I have also reached this state, that stargate has, the closest I have been was getting a feeling of floating on top my body. I do suggest trying what 9~6~3 said, because it helps alot.

dont move any muscle while you have the vibrations. Atleast, not willingly. I tend to twitch when I have vibrations - mostly my foot - and they stay, but when i try to consciously move a muscle, aside from swallowing, they go away. I can get them back pretty quick though.
Also, they may be faint vibrations because you're feeling -light-. I believe you're supposed to be so relaxed you feel quite -heavy- instead. That how it works for me atleast.
Thanks 9~6~3 - i'll have to try that if i begin to get frustrated. At the moment I can't get my head out. Someone said they'd help me with this, but havnt yet, so if anyone else would like to, private message me.
Anyways - it's not my problem thread - it's stargate's.
Just take it easy when you do it.
Don't feel as if it's a task.
It's a gift to get it. Even though everyone can do it, only some have the opportunity to. For instance - we can all own a Ferrari, but only so many of us do. Just take it lightly - lightly in the sense that it's not a chore to get done, but something to have fun with.
I went in to trying that way and my 2nd time i got vibrations and got everything out except my head.
Keep trying and I hope we get to see you on the astral!
