Astral projection?

Post by Lyrthaave »

Hello n.n this is my first topic here,
I have been reading stuff around this forums for some months, but I never considered registering till now, I hate having lots of accounts on different communities, and my english kinda sucks n.n"

Well, the thing is this:
I never considered the astral subject something really important in my daily life practices, till some weeks ago, a curious presence came to me one night and havent left, its something quite small, like 4 feet tall, though, it doesnt bother me at all, those kind of entities come to me often, but this one seems to be interested, or willing to tell me something.. -Hard to explain-

Okay so, I hate using the ouija, its really stressing for me because I dont trust in the words I get, and, my arms hurt after a while, I get really bored, and well.. Its just frustrating lol...

So.. I guess the only thing I can do to really get something real is astral projection?
I have tried, with no results at all, I guess I'm relaxing too much xD?
Are there other ways to get clear and trustworthy "conversations"?
Also I'd love to read some experiences within this kind of stuff n.n

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read this n.n and sorry for my awful english haha..

Lyrthaave: I, too, am interested in astral projection. I understand that one of the keys to to true astral travel is to master lucid dreaming and hypnogogic states; my success at this, however, is limited. I would certainly be interested in how others who successfully navigate the astral plane do so.

PS: I love your photos at your website! Are you a fan of Luis Bunuel?

I'm also interested in astral projection, I've not achieved it yet, but I have a plan :D

I suspect that lucid dreaming is the easiest way to start off, but I don't really know.

To begin with, I have trouble remembering my dreams. Most nights it's like the time just disappears. I've read in various places that writing a dream journal can help with dream recall, so I plan to start one as soon as I wake up with even a tiny bit of recall, just write down whatever I can remember. Hopefully, with a little time, that should help me to remember my dreams, which is a start.

Next up, there's the issue of becoming lucid in a dream. I recently read about a method that involves testing reality; make sure everything in the world is in compliance with what you know as normality, as a habit. There are often ways to tell that you're in a dream, such as clocks going backwards or the wrong speed, gravity not being right, people with oranges for heads, stuff like that. So, I'm checking to make sure the world is behaving as usual with some regularity, in the hopes that I train myself to do it subconsciously, which should eventually enable me to tell the difference.

Not too sure what to do once I'm in a dream and lucid, but I figure I'll cross that bridge when I get to it ^_^

This is good.

I had an article on Sleep paralysis and lucidity etc.but I can't find it,yet.I'll post that too.

I 'go out' through sleep paralysis, hypnagogic states etc. and I use some of the techniques described in Phil's article.

If you experience SP,learning to control it,whether you want to progress to OB and AP or just to stop it haappening, these techniques are really helpful all round.

Like Hine,I first realised I was lucid, when part of my dreamscape was silly and out of sync and I realised I was dreaming,so I changed the bit I didn't like, some folk wake up when they realise this,so learning how to 'stay in' is handily explained here also.
"He lived his words, spoke his own actions and his story and the story of the world ran parallel."

Sartre speaking of Che Guevara.

There's potential for some cool discussion here! :)

Yuh-huh, this is exactly what happens to me.

Although, there are times when I am aware that I'm dreaming right from the beginning of the dream. But even then, my awareness is based on the existence of some freaked out landscape, or something else immediately apparent, that is obviously not a standard component of my normal waking reality.

I'd be interested to know if there are any other folks out there who experience this spontaneously, rather than as a learned skill...

Lucid dreaming is probably the easiest platform for this. If you have a some experience with it you'll notice there is a spectrum of lucidity in dreams, but curiously dreams of flying usually proceed out of body experiences. The best metaphor I find is that of a new born coming out of the womb for the first time. If you manage to become lucid in a dream and return your consciousness to where your physical body is, you can manage to dislodge a "nonphysical" hand and feel your physical surroundings slowly perhaps (with a few more tries) leading to a full separation. If you get that far, it's easier to not try "opening your eyes" and just feel around to get used to the state.

Most of all, have fun! You're perfectly safe in every phase of doing this.

Hi, it way seem fun to you, but be cautious the astral plane is not a place to forget things like: choosing a side light or dark. There are things that could harm you.

There are many ways to have a n out of body experience. It is not just the dreaming. Try looking at a starry sky your spirit could shoot up to the stars remembering your goal could be a problem, for once out the experience changes you for ever. A cloudy sky with puffy clouds here and there is supposed to have the effect of a night sky, i don't know stars work for me. There is also other ways "project" your being, and work with the inner eye, at one point your there wherever that might be for real.

I'm not really sure what you're asking, but if you're looking to do something that will be spiritually and personally significant, then astral projection is definitely that.

I wouldn't call it anywhere near dangerous either. Anything can be dangerous, including driving to work.

But to contact spiritual beings, meditation/scrying/etc. is probably your best bet. If Ouija boards work for you though, then go for it.

ok, now...let me tell ya of one of my experiencies and likewise ask for help/light/insights
the dream: "there was a man, much like an australian aborigene, who happened to appear in my dreams once....
there was a ruge mountain behind him and the whole thing suddenly crumbled and felt upon the man.
i could actually sense the enormous impact of the blasting /falling mountain.( that was all in the first night)
the second time this shaman( i could not name him like that until now!!!) appeared in my dreams was in one wich started thus:
there was a mantra running in the air...much like a chanting; a man dressed like older elvis presley in a white spangled garb lead me throught a tiny whole in a mountain (again!) and the mantra was the passport into it, a key. inside the mountai we stood in a great cave, the elvislike man by my right hand; before me, sitting in the opposite side of the cave, facing us, seven feet distant, was the shaman. there was a little stream of water between the aboriginal man and us others. the other thing funny was that i was in this moment actually holding a black snake by its head. the snake seemed like a spent phallus - i thought.
i still have the original mantra wich i used as a key to contact the shaman, but he didn't appeas again.
UN NA MA WA NE NA MA WA
that was the mantra...very watery i think
i've also worked aome gematria for it
