An introspective musing on magic

Post by Clockwork Ghost »

I know so many people who pursue magic like its some elusive creature or some wild animal - they read countless texts on how you can perform this ritual or that spell. This always makes magic seem to be so complex, to involve so much waving of hands and intonation of words - Enochian, Ouranic, or otherwise. So many terms, so much mistique - Left Hand Path, Right Hand Path, Tree of Life, Chakras...

What if the secret of magic is simply to remove all the complexity and desire from ones life and to simply 'be'? What if the truth behind its application is to strip back all the unnecessary dogma from the self and to embrace the raw energy that is within us?

Chaos Magic, Ceremonial Magic, Ars Goetia, Demonolatry - seriously, magic has become as bad as Christianity in its need to create division within itself. There has to be a core focal point, a standardised element that ties and unifies all schools of thought.

These are just some simple thoughts, but maybe thats where Im headed at the moment in my occult studies. Its been a very long time - 26 years to be precise. Ive read so many books, done so many things, and am I any nearer to finding that which I seek? I honestly dont know - I dont even fully know what I am seeking any more.

Indeed, Case, I concur with your concerns and affinities. Much of the mystical magical experiences and skills are latent within us all, while it is excess objectivity, consequence of excess extroversion, and too much analysis, all concurrent and dis-integrative. Anchoring concentrically within the Universe, "subjective approach", wonderment is resplendent within our lives as we experience myriad forms while the subjective anchorage in the Universe remains constant. Consequently the mystical experiences and skills ensue, provided we remain in loving rapport with the Universe as a whole, as our abode, as our parent, our lover, and as our selves.
The knots in the heart of living beings are rent asunder as they approach the welcoming embrace of subtle mindedness.
