Unable to edit posts

I no longer have the option to.

But I can edit this one, but not others.

There is a time limit on the edit function.
You can edit new posts,but not older ones and if there is a reply made to a new post,the edit stops too.

If have one post or a select few and it's a reasonable edit ,I can edit for you if you give me a copy of the text you want in and/or any text you want out.Pm me,if that's ok.

We don' t usually extend the edit function,but sometimes we will allow post edits for special cases and as a discretionary courtesy. [thumbup]

Hmm, that's strange. I coulda swore I was able to edit longer. It makes slight sense, but sometimes I just want to add some info or repost something with cleaned up text.

Edit* I noticed it because my older posts don't have the signature and I was gonna edit some of the bigger ones to include it, but its not a big deal.

Some forums carry over new sigs into old posts too,I do know that,soit's not an unreasonable expectation.

Pm Vashta,he might be able to help,but for now I can check the permissions on your sign up form,see if there is something I can tweak.Nae harm in looking at it. [grin]

Is there a way to have it set so it always has the box checked for the sig, cuz I have posted several times now and forgotten to have it.

Try this:

Go to User control panel.

Click on board preferences tab,then 'edit posting defaults'.There is an 'attach signature by default' choice setting,see if it's highlighted yes or no and if no,click yes and see if this helps.

I just did the above steps with my old sig.It should be below now: purple and shiny,lol.I 'm going to log out and in again and see if it sticks.Back in a mo.

Back: Yep still there. [thumbup] I don't think there's anything we can do retrospectively though,re: attaching sigs to older posts.

If this dosen't fix it,then we must wait for Vashta.
