That Inner Force
That Inner Force
That inner force, that is strong like the ferocious wind. Some years ago now I've been going in and out of this mystical state of consciousness. At times I felt so much anguish.. terribly unbalanced. I seemed to have misdone a few of these yogic practices and generated a lot of energy and became electric with bio-energy, seemed to have indeed awakened a very strong brain-fuel that I can only recognize as a healing process gone wild and rampant. I have come to the conclusion that it is unsafe to practice without a set time and environment for it, since they are so addicting these breathing exercises, and any man or woman will be addicted to these things once they see what kind of benefits they bring, in a therapeutic kind of value-pack.

Re: That Inner Force
Can you please explain the breathing practices youre referring to? I do a whole bunch of breathing exercises every day, so Im quite keen to learn some more techniques.
Re: That Inner Force
Ashtanga Yoga Sequence with Ujjayi-breath, and then a bit relaxation/meditation with this breath using bandhas (body-locks; lifting the coccyx (tail-bone and locking it (tightening) (seal), and navel-lock (pulling the perenium up and inwards just below the abdomen.) Took some practice to do these body locks and hold them in for a while, but once you figure it out you get the feel for it and together with this ujjayi-breath you send energy (chi) upwards. It is not a practice I will want to recommend, unless it is done very slow and steady. The results of these practices did trigger a very powerful energy that have turned my life upside down, it made my nervous system go haywire.
Try to find some videos of David Swenson explaining it. I also found out there are more locks upwards but it takes a lot of time to learn them, basically you can utilize more than two of these body locks, you even have an above one where you blow all your air out of your abdomen and pull the stomach it, there are internal muscles that are not used but they have been used in for ex. Krishnamacharya, but I wouldn't play with these bandhas, find a teacher and start easy. Ahimsa (non-violence) towards yourself, meaning your own practice. These are very powerful things, they can trigger anxiety if done too much/often, or lead to kundalini awakening. If unprepared (well you'll always be), it can send you to higher states of consciousness, and give you difficulty getting 'down' again. A permanent energy that is very strong going in a spiral motion upwards, piercing your brain and although braingasmic and psychedelic, will greatly scare even the most robust psychenaut.

It sounds like you've reached a point where you need to find a competent mentor in your area. Are you working with Qigong?
Re: That Inner Force
Get some hematite or a LARGE chunk of quartz and funnel that excess / off balanced energy into it while looking for a mentor.

Generally one builds the inner sanctum before stirring the deep waters within...
Ground. Put your naked feet in some virgin soil.
And start over.
However, safeties and boundaries abound, touch someone well organized near at hand, even a dog with a long tail and deep clear eyes will nicely do.
If not a willing dog at hand, visualize yourself with a long tail and place it as well in the virgin soil.
Kind regards,
