* Baba Vanga was often asked in early 90s, (she died in 1996) about start of WWIII - she said: "Often people ask me when it will start, when third world war will start, i answer them, not yet, cause Syria did not fall yet, Syria will fall at the feet of winner, but the winner will not be him in fact"
("Here's prophecy Vanga , which will take place in the fall of the year the governor of Syria. Their she made shortly before his death :
"Soon the world will come to an ancient teaching. I asked, " How soon will come the time? " No, not soon. Syria still has not fallen ! Syria will fall at the feet of the winner, but the winner will not he ? " ")
most of her prophecies available on web comes from russian journalist who wrote a list of dates with events next to them from about 2000 to far after 4000 year, but not many know this list is completely bragged for the needs of journal
* Mahomet predicted Armageddon will start from Damascus (Syria), army from Medinah will gather in Jihad against Antichrist and Western Civilisation
* place Edgar Cayce named the last city before the start of WWIII, was Damascus - Capital of Syria
* Nostradamus predicted there will be 3 Antichrists - first was recognized as Napoleon, second Hister (Hitler), third one is Mabus and he is supposed to live in our modern times - there is close advisor around Obama whos name is Raymond Mabus in your government, he is US NAVY General
Nostradamus writes in Centuries: "Mabus will take his army to east, after Mabus shortly dies, 27 years of exhausting war starts"

Re: prophecies
Hello Nemo777,
When I was growing up in the 1970's in rural Ohio we had neighbors who were, what they called in those days, 'Jesus Freaks.' Since PC does not apply to Evangelical Christians I suppose that is still acceptable. They told me I was damned because I prayed the rosary (I was a very Catholic kid) and to prove all their various beliefs and expectations gave me a copy of a book by a prophecy expert, Hal Lindsey, titled 'The Late Great Planet Earth.' What he did, basically, was to take the current events of the 1970's, fit them into Revelations and certain chapter of Daniel and then lay out how the 1970's was the End Times. Waiting in a line to buy gas seemed like it was the end of the world, but, it wasn't. BTW, the Syria of those days was Lebanon so all the same things were said, soundly supported by Scriptures and personal revelations from the Holy Ghost in tongues, that WWIII would begin there. Perhaps Reagan put the Rapture off schedule but it didn't happen. Hal Lindsey was just wrong.
Then there is Nostrodamus. If you watch the old film 'The Man who saw Tomorrow,' you'll find how they understood his predictions makes no reference to the infamous 2012 and said the world would end with your antichrist Mabus in 1999. (I saw this in a drive-in when it came out! I loved it!)

In short, I point these things out to make the case that text like Nostrodamus' and Revelations are always interpreted In the context of whatever are current events, so it is all very fluid and contradictory. Personally, I think it is better to focus on more grounded occult knowledge and practices.

Yey,a chance to post one of my favourite memes :

[sorry for the 'idiot' bit,I do think folk get way too panicky about this, but it's not idiotic as much as it is ignorance mostly based around fear and manipulation by others with their own agendas.]
Please listen to what Asurendra has told you:

I've lost count of the number of Armageddons I've survived so far, lol.Every so often another one pops up and passes by and yet I'm still here.No rapture for me, *sighs*,I must be a very bad person...O... Side note: my understanding is that the Armageddon army was to be massed in/from/around Megiddo, not Medinah. As described below,as Har-Megiddo is the origin of the term 'Armageddon'.Mahomet predicted Armageddon will start from Damascus (Syria), army from Medinah will gather in Jihad against Antichrist and Western Civilisation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Megiddo
Context again, lol.Megiddo is also known as Greek: Μεγιδδώ/Μαγεδδών, Megiddó/Mageddón in the Septuagint; Latin: Mageddo; Assyrian: Magiddu, Magaddu; Magidda and Makida in the Amarna tablets; Egyptian: Maketi, Makitu, and Makedo. The Book of Revelation mentions an apocalyptic military amassment at Armageddon, a name derived from the Hebrew "Har Megiddo" meaning "Mount of Megiddo". 'Armageddon' has become a byword for the end of the age.[1]

Re: prophecies
You might have a look at Archdruid John Michael Greer's Apocalypse Not: Everything You Know About 2012, Nostradamus and the Rapture Is Wrong, it is full of (obviously) failed end of the world prophecies. I didn't read the book but read most of it as it was published on his blog.
