Query: Using Photographs as a Magickal Link.

We all no that photographs are used as a magickal link to a target person, whether it be for healing, love, cursing or controlling. What I want to know is are digital pictures as good a link as taken-on-film pictures?

Are pictures downloaded off the Internet good or poor psychic links?

Are pictures from magazines and newspapers good links?

Does whether you are practicing magick based on the powers of your own mind or based on the powers of spirits make any difference to the quality and usefulness of these links listed above?

Yes, yes, yes and no. Well that's quite simple then.

I always assumed that film based pictures were best as the film had actually been pointed at the subject, and a picture developed from that film had been in contact with the film. Do you think that something invisible and intangible transfers to the pictures, like the Aka thread found in Huna magic?

I assumed that digital pics lacked this connection being only numbers on a microchip. I also assumed that newspaper and magazine pics lacked it. What do you think?

Do you think the strength of the link is also greatly connected to the strength of the magician's belief or doubt in it's strength?

It is simple. People have a tendency of over complicating things. There is great power in simplicity.

The physical means of reproducing the picture mean very little. If you really think about it - the part of the person that's captured would be stuck in the negative of film cameras. What would make that transfer over to the actual picture if the photographer didn't have that ability? Nothing.

A picture is simply a focal point.

I don't work with pictures of people I don't know or don't have a Connection to. There are people out there that can and do. I'm not one of them. I also don't use my Talents for perfect strangers either so it's kind of a mute point for me.

Absolutely. If you don't believe you can reach someone through that link then you're not going to.

This is where education/training, practice and trial & error come in. Educate yourself, work with your Talents so that you can control and actually use them and you'll find out what you are and are not capable of actually doing.

My preferred method of making those Connections is empathically based. Can I use a picture for a focal point? Yes. But why the hell would I?
