Alchemy art symbols question

Post by malachite »

Hi there,

A couple of years ago I bought a deck of normal poker crads from Alchemy1977.
I just found them again I noticed that some of these (awesome) cards are decorated with signs, circles, symbols, kinda similar to what Dean and Sam Winchester draw in Supernatural*....

Here are some examples, (I'm talking about the circles and line, not the characters themselves)

Do this things actually mean something / are these things used for magical purposes, or just decorative?
And where can I find more. See ya.

* Yes, I used to watch that. Not that I believe that their symbols are real, but since they draw them I thaught is was worth mentioning.

That would be Enochian.

I still can't really discern those images, but I'm aware of the show and know more than I should about it due to my daughter's obssesion with it,lol.

In non TV reality,It's a complex system and one that requires a lot of study and practice,as far as I'm aware. [thumbup]

There's a definite alphabet. If I'm not mistaken the member status beneath your screen name is in Enochian.

That would be Theban http://www.omniglot.com/writing/theban.htm, the Theban script is pretty neat though. Here's Enochian http://www.omniglot.com/writing/enochian.htm.

Alcantagram = spirit of metal

Yin yang = runes, the elder futhark mixed with some astrology symbols.

Regarding supernatural.
They use mostly simplified versions from the key of solomon dealing with the demons and then Enochian when dealing with the angels.

The character bobby is actually jewish, so a lot of the magic the boys use are jewish magic.

"The character bobby is actually jewish, so a lot of the magic the boys use are jewish magic."

Sorry, this was wrong of me and I can't find the edit button.

Rufus is jewish. He was bobby's friend and first partner when he started hunting. bobby then taught it to John Winchester and then the boys.

"Rufus Turner is the hunter who helped Bobby Singer when his wife, Karen Singer, was possessed by a demon. Rufus exorcised the demon and helped cover up Karen's death. It's Rufus who introduces Bobby to the world of the supernatural, and they hunted together for many years until a hunt goes wrong in Omaha, and a woman important to Rufus dies. They become estranged after the incident."

Thanks, that Enochian looks awesome.

Would be awesome if I could draw something so easily like the guys in Supernatural do to protect myself or cast a spell on myself or something.
