I need help fixing a physical object

Post by VoidWanderer »

I managed to crack the protective piece of glass covering my android phone's camera. The glass is still mostly where it needs to be so I'm wondering what sort of magick could fix it. The glass itself isn't actually all that damaged aside from a bit of cratering in its center and a few small cracks outstretching from it.

I'm kind of new to this stuff, so I'm not quite sure what's possible (practical) and what isn't. I've read that usually the "physical" is best for making physical changes (Why use telekinesis when you have hands?) and that non-physical energy is more useful with non-physical stuff. That seems logical at first glance I guess, but really, what's the functional difference between "physical" and "non-physical"; perception? I figure "magickal energies" and the physical should be able to affect each other without any issues, and that if they couldn't, physical humans beings wouldn't even be capable of casting spells because of their "physical" limitations.

I've thought about using psionics, astral projection (reality shift/use indirection to modify the physical), and putting my phone in a mentally drawn circle while chanting/drawing sigils (chaos magick style). These ideas all seem fine to me aside from the fact that I can't use time to create a mentally acceptable reality change because glass doesn't naturally fix itself (short circuit magick via disbelief), and I'm not sure my mind would accept something along the lines of using telekinesis/transmutation to fix it visually. I believe I've managed to manifest events, as well as slightly moving a psi wheel, but I've never actually seen anything occur as a result of magick that was for sure attributable to it. I'm quite okay with repeating a mantra without feeling silly, but I'm also not one hundred percent sure that anything I do will work (which is probably why I seem to be limited to causing effects that my mind can write off as nothings).

Despite the above, I find it hard to believe that anything is impossible so I'm probably throwing myself into a bunch of mental walls. Help would be much appreciated in fixing my phone specifically, but I'd also like some tips on how to get to a "point of no return" where I won't be able to disbelieve in magick.

Also, please don't tell me to go buy a new piece of glass, or get warranty on my phone (or anything along those lines); that would not be useful.

Reversal of Entropy.
Good luck with that [grin]

Okay, I just looked that up and from my current understanding, entropy is disorder; it always increases or stays the same. If that were a rock solid rule though, I don't see how a classic style ritual would be able to work, and I also don't see why people would do rituals if they didn't work (aside from being a little loopy [gz] ).

If its possible to do a ritual to meet a specific person (for example) and then find said person in the near future, then isn't that pretty much a reversal of entropy because its more likely that you wouldn't meet that person than that you would? Or would that mean that rituals are just ways of making self fulfilling prophecies (and not magickal at all)? If entropy is chaos then isn't magick the art of focusing on chaos so that it takes a specific outcome?

My point is: if it's possible to make subtle things manifest over time (finding money on a street), then why isn't it possible to amplify this to make a large effect over a short period of time (opening doors and such with your mind)? Does your subconscious censor reality, so that only "acceptable" things can occur, hence the reason for rituals to begin with?

I feel like I'm missing some key bit of knowledge. [crazy]

Greetings my friend,

Affecting things that are already physically manifested is beyond the scope of
my present practice.

Dionne Fortune says: Spirit cannot affect matter, it never has.
I cannot say whether or not this is true. But our current means
of affecting matter through volition is only possible in a dualistic sense.
as far as I can tell, such as spirit and vessel.

What is broken can never be whole again.
At least not in a way that matches the exact prior state.
Hence, Entropy. It is a progressive state headed toward disorder.

it seems to reverse entropy you would need to alter the past
and circumvent or eliminate the cause.

Working with the present and future is an entirely different animal.
Learn the Occult, and may what is hidden be revealed to you.
May your future become pleasantly configured by your own will
And by any entity you may Invoke/Evoke to aid you.

Good luck my friend

Not meaning to be dense or anything [rofl], but I still don't quite get what you're saying. I get that because of entropy, nothing can be exactly as it was, but I'm pretty sure that when I turn my light switch on and off, my light indeed goes on and off and appears to be having the same version of "on" and "off" each time I toggle it. Even though each time I turn it on, the "universe" as a whole is changed, different energy is used each time for each moment that it's on; the "universe" is never exactly the same again, but a part of it is close enough to being consistent to produce a perceivable effect.

I know that my light stays on when its switch is set to "on", and that if my light bulb broke, I could go get another one that would be close enough to the original to be useful, but not necessarily the same. So, why couldn't I replace buying a light bulb with manifesting the reconstruction of my old light bulb, but without necessarily making the fixed light bulb exactly like it was before (just close enough to work).

Either I'm still screwing these ideas up, or I don't actually need to reverse entropy to achieve an effect; I just need a suitable cause for my effect based on the current disorder/order of things (the "universe" state). In my case, I don't see why it wouldn't work to evoke the "god of telekinesis" to move something (or transmute oxygen or any other material into glass of an equal mass [thumbup] ).

Further, with evocation and such, is believing seeing? Or would I have to *KNOW* that I can evoke something with my mind before it would be summoned. If that is the case, how would I go about knowing that I can do something completely "impossible" in order to do it?

Hey VoidWanderer :-)

We can only speak from experience, so here's mine for what it's worth:

Pete Carroll has an interesting idea in one of his books that you can make anything happen by magick, but the amount of 'magickical power' required depends on the probability of the event happening by itself. My own experience bears this out (and yours: people drop money all the time - it's not too hard to push up your chances of finding some with a bit of magick). You'd need to generate some serious magickal steam heat to bring about something as improbable as a machine rebuilding itself, and I've never heard of a ritual with that end - but you'll find plenty to help you make money, some of which you could spend in a phone repair shop ;-) I hope you have better luck than me with material gains, etc. - any self-indulgent magick I do has a habit of biting me on the arse.

You're right about the subconscious censoring reality, and it being part of the reason we need rituals, etc. You'll get better at believing as you do more magick and get more results (and disbelieving too, when it's useful to do so - e.g. if you're alone in a wood on a full moon, you may want to disbelieve in werewolves..).

But if an event is probable and you make it occur, that means it's more than just probable (you made it happen). Isn't using probability to tell if something is magickally "possible" sort of unreliable then?

The mind censoring reality seems to imply to me that seeing something might make stuff go "bad" (I'm thinking reality fluctuations) if it doesn't censor anything. Seeing as how chaotes use belief as a tool, it seems logical that magick isn't really about going with the flow of things, but that it's more like a battle between what the mind wants, and what reality wants (where the more the mind disbelieves in reality, the more leverage is has to change it). Sort of like how the average person won't even try magick because they somehow [thumbup] magickally know that magick doesn't work.

I've noticed that when anything "weird" happens to me, my mind seems to *TRY* to forget or discard it as "not happening". If you could slowly condition yourself to disbelieve in reality, and not be afraid of "weird events" I think it should be possible modify reality a lot more easily over time.

For example:

0. Recently I tried to move a psi wheel and had no success.

1. I then tried it with a fan going in my room (but not facing the psi wheel at all), and it started tilting a little bit (barely noticeable, but because I was focusing on the points of the wheel instead of the thing as a whole, it wasn't so much spinning as it was just "magnetically" shifting individual points on the wheel). The moment I thought about my fan, I couldn't move the wheel anymore because my mind rejected it (I theorize).

2. With enough belief that is was *POSSIBLE* to move it, I put it on a shelf beside a subwoofer, and recorded the "magnetic" looking movements on video.

3. Then I recorded the psi wheel while blasting music through the subwoofer. I noticed that when the subwoofer was going, the psi wheel would rock back and forth (quite unlike how when I was trying to spin it, its outer points would "flex" one at a time).

4. I then used the videos as a "proof" that I could move the psi wheel, so as to boost my belief, I put the thing under a glass (to prevent external forces like air from tampering with it). I could then move the psi wheel a little bit more.

5. The next day, I didn't feel like training, and I struggled to believe that what I was doing was anything but nonsense. I'm wondering if maybe this is a natural response from my body that's supposed to keep me "grounded in reality".

This makes me wonder if maybe one could slowly build up their ability until they make a really big effect that they can't not believe, and then use that to almost completely break free from physical laws (literally by invalidating them).

Do see any holes in this idea? Do you have anything to add to it? Do you think this sort of thing would work? [grin]

I'm kind of new to this stuff aside from a few minor successes and having read a few books on magick.

No,

The probability exists independently of the Magick. So if something has a high
probability of happening without Magick, then it would require less magickal force
to make it happen. So conversely, something that is highly unlikely would require
much more Magickal force.

So, as a general rule. Magick works best on things that are likey to happen
without Magick, which is sad but true. But don't get discouraged, try whatever
you like, keeping in mind Magick follows Universal/Natural laws.

The Magickal force that I mention could be your own will and actions, or that of
an Entity you Evoke, An Invocation would have the effect of enhancing what is "Within"
you, augmenting the power of your will, cognition. Increased emotional stability, etc.
These things help with(and are) Magick from the Inside.

Cheers
