Re: Glasya-Labolas evocation
I didn't find him exactly psychotic but I also didn't find him reliable. Our initial contact was good and friendly but after I delivered my part of the bargain he just began giving nonsense answers to all my questions and otherwise did not hold up his side.

Re: Death Spells that work
Original post: immensly The death spells I've come across seem to be revenge texts that include lots of pain for the victim. This would make sense if one is looking for revenge, but what if you wish someone's death not because you hate them, but because they are dangerous and you are 100% certain t...

Re: summoning, demons, pacts as a beginner?
Don't know what information you've been reading... you might want to do a lot more research before selling your soul to a demon. In most demon/spirit summoning I've read, such an arrangement is not a necessity.

The rank of "President"
Does anyone know where the rank "president" falls in a heirarchy like that used in Goetia? Where does a President fall compared to a Prince, for example?

Re: Parchment?
I was looking for something totally unrelated in Pliny and stumbled across this chapter from his Natural History , telling about papyrus papers for those who might be interested: CHAP. 23. (12)—THE NINE DIFFERENT KINDS OF PAPER. Paper is made from the papyrus, by splitting it with a needle into very...

Re: Parchment?
Most grimores are from 13th to 17th century. They usually claim to be much older, but to be honest most of them are Medieval and Renaissance. And at that, even when they're copied from legitimate older sources, they tend to exist in modified forms. Just look at all the slightly different instructio...

Re: Glasya-Labolas
I called upon him using a kind of simplified ceremony, which I think may have been more similar to the ancient methods of Solomon which only mention jewlery and written charms, and not the ritual outfits or lengthy prayers and purifications. In any event -- I'd asked my preexisting spirit friends fo...

Re: Parchment?
Actually paper is really old (150ad) an by the time most magic books was written it was a viable option. Wax was also used in Europe and papyrus scrolls or other plant material was used up until the printing press came along. Strips of leather, bark and leaves was common as well. Most grimoires tha...

Re: 9 Day Purification
you have to be careful to maintain a degree of common sense, and not drive yourself to the point of physical sickness or exhaustion during that time. Interesting, since my impression was that that's the actual purpose of this preparation. One version of the Solomon grimoire (which says 7 days inste...

9 Day Purification
I'm wondering if anyone who does Goetic/Solomonic magic actually does the recommended 9 day purification beforehand? (During which one fasts, abstains from sex and sexual behaviors, goes to confession, etc.) If so, does it help?

Re: Parchment?
Most likely parchment is specified in these older books because that was the cheapest paper of the day. I would personally only use true parchment if it were for a special charm that I was going to reuse for a long time. Sometimes I compromise and use the fancy "parchment paper" that's jus...

Re: occult attack , advice
My usual suggestion is to do some basic uncrossing/cleansing work -- even if it doesn't cure the problem you should see improvement within a short time of having done the working, which will back up that it's of supernatural origin. If no changes occur, then the problem is based somewhere else. Just...

Re: How to gain servitude of an entity through contract/bind
The Book of Black Magic and of Pacts by Waite has some info on this. First, make the spirit agree to your terms -- don't negotiate, even if the spirit claims not to be able to do it or that they need something else in return. Then you use your ritual sword to make them lay their hands on it and swea...

Re: Orgone and CM
I knew a guy who was being troubled by a djinn or goetic spirit (wasn't exactly clear what system had been used to hound him). He found orgone to be one of the only things that kept the spirit at bay. Tradition holds that these spirits hate iron, which is an important ingredient in a lot of orgone m...

Re: Oil of Abramelin
http://horusset.com/RIKB/abramelin.pdf has a pretty good look into Abremalin oil, although he seems to lack some knowledge of ancient perfumery that would help. If you want to make it old style it should be oil infused with the spices (essential oils weren't used in perfumes until about the 18th cen...

Re: The key of Solomon the King?
Most of the book is the Goetic instructions minus the list of demons -- in fact some editions of the Goetia forget to add the Key of Solomon material yet seem to assume you know it (instructions for purifications and conserations and the actual conjurations.) At this time the only part of the book I...
